The spike in the number of pregnant women being treated, at times intubated, for COVID-19 has raised concerns in Greece's scientific community and among doctors.

Critics say there have been mixed signals that confuse public opinion and that medical associations in various specialties, such as OB/GYN, have not pushed hard enough to dispel misunderstandings.

A fire on Thursday at a COVID-19 support hospital in Movila, a village in Ploiesti County, about 30 kilometres from Bucharest, claimed the lives of two people. One nurse was severely injured. The other 15 patients from different wards were evacuated.

Six hospitals refused to admit a woman with a severe coronavirus. The ambulance with the patient on oxygen traveled for almost 3 hours around Sofia, Nova TV reported.

Seven patients have died after a blaze broke out on Friday morning at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in south-eastern Romania.

Three more people infected with the new coronavirus have died in Romania, the total number of those who have died so far due to this cause reaching 72, informs the Strategic Communication Group on Tuesday. It's about two women - one of 60 years old from Ialomita and another 53 years old from Hunedoara County - and a 65 year old man from Hunedoara.
