Turkey to form second board to tackle social impacts of COVID-19

Turkey has formed a second science board to tackle the social impacts of the measures taken in the fight against the coronavirus, the health minister has announced, informing that the new board will include experts in the field of psychology of religion, sociology of religion, statistics, sociology and psychology.

Number of mobile phone subscribers reach 83 million

The number of mobile subscribers in Turkey increased to 82.9 million as of the third quarter of 2019, rising from 80.1 million at the end of 2018, data from the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) have shown.

The mobile subscriber penetration rate also climbed to 101.1 percent as of end-September from 99 percent in 2018.

'Pirate' Wikipedia launched in Turkey after access ban

A "pirate" website for the online encyclopedia Wikipedia has been launched in Turkey, five months after the website was banned in the country.

With its domain name registered in the capital Ankara, the mirror website "www.turkcewikipedia.org" contains all the content of Wikipedia in both English and Turkish.
