International Center for Migration Policy Development

Greece participated as an observer in a meeting of the Board of Directors of the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) for the first time on Thursday.

The meeting was chaired by Switzerland's Deputy Migration Minister Mario Gattiker, while Greece was represented by his counterpart Giorgos Koumoutsakos.

Greece applied for membership to the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), the Migration Ministry announced in a press release on Tuesday.

The organizers are the chairpersons of the internal and external commission in the National Assembly, together with the International Center for Migration Policy Development.

Among the topics to be discussed are Bulgaria's expectations for a comprehensive approach to the problem and ways of overcoming the political impasse surrounding pan-European migration policy.
