Planica floodlit for the first time for World Championship
Planica – The world’s top ski jumpers will converge on Slovenia’s Planica this week for the Ski Flying World Championships, which has been moved up from March due to the Covid-19 epidemic. The event will be held for the first time without spectators, under floodlights, and under strict anti-epidemic rules.
Major sporting events and competitions in Slovenia cancelled
The organisers of the Vitranc Cup in Kranjska Gora said the event was cancelled based on recommendations from the International Ski Federation (FIS) and in consultations with the National Public Health Institute.
Postponed men’s downhill to be raced Thursday
“Due to the strong wind and unfavorable forecast for today, the men’s downhill is postponed,” the International Ski Federation (FIS) announced.
