Russia sends Covid-19 Vaccines Sputnik to Iran

After some European countries opted to use Sputnik vaccine Russia, Iran also received the vaccine. Last month, the Iranian parliament had pleaded for a ban on Western-produced, and especially US-made vaccines, for political reasons.

The first shipment of Russia's Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccines arrived in Iran on Thursday.

European powers warn Iran over uranium metal plans

European powers on Jan. 16 voiced deep concern over Iran's plans to produce uranium metal, warning that Tehran has "no credible civilian use" for the element.

"The production of uranium metal has potentially grave military implications," said the foreign ministers of Britain, France and Germany in a joint statement.

Tehran Won't Withdraw from the 2015 Nuclear Deal?

Iran will not withdraw from the 2015 nuclear deal, Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said, quoted by news agencies. According to him, the EU has no legal basis to trigger the dispute mechanism in Iran's nuclear deal .

Mousavi even accused the conserned European countries that they did not respect their part of the deal. He said the EU's claims were unfounded.

Iran minister calls Trump’s condolences for attacks ‘repugnant’

 

Iran’s foreign minister on Thursday rejected Donald Trump’s condolences for deadly attacks in Tehran, calling the U.S. president’s words repugnant.

Trump had said he prayed for the victims of Wednesday’s attacks that were claimed by Islamic State, but added that “states that sponsor terrorism risk falling victim to the evil they promote.”

Iran, Qatar and the Middle East powder keg

The deadly raids on the Iranian Parliament and the tomb of Ayatollah Khomeini in Tehran on June 7, which claimed 12 lives, are grave contributions to the escalation of tension in the Middle East amid the Qatar crisis. The fact that the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), or DAESH, has claimed responsibility for the attacks makes it even worse.
