Somali leader’s son faces prison sentence over fatal crash
Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has requested a sentence of two to six years in prison for Muhammed Hasan Sheikh Mahmud, the son of Somali President Hasan Sheikh Mahmud, who caused the death of motorcycle courier Yunus Emre Göçer in Fatih, Istanbul.

Police arrest 18 int'l crime ring members
Turkish police have dismantled the notorious international criminal organization Comanchero, arresting 18 of its alleged members.
The arrests come after a joint effort by Turkish law enforcement agencies to apprehend individuals involved in a wide range of criminal activities, including drug trafficking, murder, armed robbery, arson, kidnapping and global money laundering.

Istanbul prosecutor probes art exhibition over obscenity complaint
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated an investigation into an art exhibition at the ArtIstanbul Feshane culture and arts center following a complaint lodged by the Yesevi Alperenler Association.
The complaint accuses the exhibition of "openly inciting or insulting the public to hatred and enmity."
Lecturer sues coffee shop for tripping over sleeping dog
In a first of its kind incident, a lecturer has sued the owners of a coffee shop, where he tripped over a dog sleeping at the entrance and broke his arm.
Mahmut Şenol, who is also a journalist, filed a lawsuit for compensation of 31,000 Turkish Liras ($1,700).
Turkish Pop Star Arrested for ‘Joke’ About Religious Schools

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office said that Gulsen "incited people to hatred and animosity" with her comment.
During a concert in April, Gulsen called a religious high school graduate a pervert. She insisted in her testimony to the prosecutor that it was a "joke between colleagues".
