The 13th International Crime and Punishment Film Festival will take place between Nov. 17-23.

Founded by Professor Adem Sözüer and organized under his chairmanship, it is a themed festival which aims to make a cultural impact on the theme of justice, using art and science's impactful language and to enrich the socio-cultural life, regarding people's rights and freedom.

For the first time in the history of the northern province of Samsun's Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU), a former rector has graduated from the same university's law faculty.

Retired Turkish ambassador Nazmi Vildan Akiman passed away on July 1. Born in 1929 in Ankara, Akıman graduated from Şişli Terakki High School, Istanbul University Faculty of Law and Columbia University Faculty of Political Sciences.

He represented Türkiye as a diplomat in the Foreign Ministry between 1957 - 1991. He served as Türkiye's ambassador to Cuba, Greece and Spain.
