Collector owns Ottoman sultan's unseen banknote

Fifth emission 500 kuru?, which was printed by an Ottoman sultan in 1849 but has never been seen so far, was found with a collector in Ankara. 

The owner of the banknote, researcher and writer Necati Do?an, said the banknotes were launched for the first time in the Ottoman era in the period of Abdülmecit in 1840 with the name "Kaime-i Nakdiye-i Mütebere." 

One migrant dead, two missing in capsized boat in Aegean Sea

At least one person has died and two others are missing after a boat carrying refugees sank on Oct. 27 in the Aegean Sea, off the Turkish province of ?zmir.

The Turkish Coast Guard on Oct. 28 said 42 people were rescued from the sea soon after the incident off the resort town of Çe?me. It also said a search and rescue operation was underway to find two missing refugees. 

Iraq, Egypt to attend Syria talks in Vienna on Oct. 30

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Iraq's Deputy Foreign Minister Nazar al-Khairalla will attend international talks on the Syrian crisis taking place on Oct. 30 in Vienna.

Iran, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's closest regional ally, is also expected to attend following a request from Moscow for wider participation.

Istanbul gas grid may be privatized through public offering rather than bloc sale: Mayor

Istanbul's gas grid ?GDA? may be privatized through an initial public offering rather than through a bloc sale method, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Kadir Topba? has said, adding that the authorities would like to sell the grid to city locals.

Iran says Zarif will attend Syria talks in Vienna on Oct. 30

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his deputies will attend Syria peace talks in Vienna on Oct. 30, the semi- official ISNA news agency reported. 

"Deputy Foreign Ministers Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Abbas Araqchi and Majid Takht Ravanchi will accompany Zarif on this trip," foreign ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham was quoted as saying by ISNA.
