Europol busts criminal group making fake €100 bills
A group of counterfeiters which had been producing 100-euro bills was busted in a joint police operation involving Europol and police forces in four countries, including Greece.
The criminal group consisted of at least 18 people and their 100-euro bills were hand-made, as opposed to printed, using special ink and watermarks, which made them invisible to counterfeit bill detectors.

Italian ambassador killed in Congo while in UN convoy
The Italian ambassador to Congo and an Italian carabinieri police officer were killed on Feb. 22 while traveling in Congo in a U.N. convoy, the Foreign Ministry said.
In a brief statement, the ministry said Luca Attanasio and the officer were killed in Goma, the eastern regional capital. They were traveling in a convoy of the U.N. stabilization mission in Congo.
More than a Tonne of Cocaine Was Found in a Banana Container in Italy
More than one tonne of cocaine was seized from a banana container at the port of Gioia Tauro in the southern Italian region of Calabria. This was announced by Italian carabinieri and the financial police, BTA reported.
The container was traveling from South America and had to reach Germany. The drug found in it, totaling 1.2 tonnes, could be sold for at least EUR 250 million.

An organised criminal group of 12 Bulgarian nationals running a network for trafficking women to Italy for prostitution had been dismantled by Italian carabinieri and the Bulgarian police with the support of Europol, the EU law enforcement agency announced on Friday.
Macedonian Islamic State recruiter arrested in Italy
A special unit of Italian Carabinieri have arrested a Macedonian citizen near Venice, on suspicion that he recruited Islamic State fighters.
Italian agency ANSA is reporting that the person detained was "introduced to radical Islam by an unnamed Bosnian imam."
Peace park instead of roadblocks
BELGRADE - Northern Kosovska Mitrovica Mayor Goran Rakic said on Wednesday that he has adopted the decision to build a peace park next to the bridge on the Ibar River which divides the city into the northern and southern Mitrovica because he is aware that the removal of the roadblock from the bridge is a disturbing piece of news for a majority of Serbs in the city.
