Italy planning 5-figure fines for monument and art vandalism

Italy will push for a law imposing stiff, five-figure fines on vandals who damage monuments or other cultural sites, to help pay for the repairs and clean-up.

At a Cabinet meeting on April 11, the government approved proposed legislation championed by the culture minister that would impose fines starting at 10,000 euros (nearly $11,000) and as high as 60,000 euros (about $65,000).

Brnabic receives Corsini

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic on Tuesday thanked Italian official Paolo Corsini for his country's support for regional dialogue and stability in the Western Balkans, demonstrated through Rome's engagement within the Berlin Process.

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic spoke on Tuesday in Belgrade with Vice Chair of Italian Senate's Foreign Affairs Committee Paolo Corsini.

According to the Serbian government, Brnabic "thanked him for his country's support to regional dialogue and stability of the Western Balkans, which it has shown through its activity within the Berlin Process."
