Health bureau denies STD allegations amid debates on northern university
The provincial health bureau has rejected allegations regarding a university in a small northern province in Türkiye that hosts thousands of foreign students, as some Turkish students anonymously claim to have contracted viruses after sexual encounters with international counterparts.
More than 5,000 African students reside in Karabük
After Karabük University in Türkiye's north came to the public agenda following the alleged murder of a Gabonese student, it has been found that 12,000 students from abroad study at the university, with almost half of them belonging to African countries.

One suspect arrested over unsolved death of Gabonese student
A suspect identified as having links to the death of a Gabonese student at Karabük University has been arrested after he was detained and released three times in a week.
The lifeless body of Jeannah Danys Dinabongho Ibouanga, 17, whom her friends called "Dina" for short, was found on March 26 in Filyos Stream in the northern province of Karabük.

The lifeless body of a Gabonese woman has been found in the Filyos Stream in the northern province of Karabük, while her family and friends claimed the young woman was murdered and held a protest to shed light on the incident.

A Syrian man who beat coronavirus wants to donate lifesaving immune plasma as a gesture of gratitude to the Turkish people.
Muhammed Alismail, 27, came to Turkey with his family seven years ago after fleeing the Syrian civil war. He started bachelor's in environmental engineering at Karabük University.

Black Sea's Zeugma to be archeological site
The ancient city of Hadrianopolis, estimated to have been used as a settlement area in late Hellenistic, Rome and early Byzantine times, will become an archeological site.
Located at some three kilometers east of Turkey's Black Sea province of Karabük, the site is also called "Zeugma of the Black Sea," due to its similarity with Zeugma mosaics in southeastern province of Gaziantep.
