Russians arrested in Kosovo released

Six Russian nationals arrested in Kosovo two days ago have been released and have left Kosovo.

TASS is reporting this, citing the spokesperson for the Russian embassy in Belgrade, Yuri Pichugin.

"The situation has been resolved. According to the decision of the court in Podujevo, they paid a money fine and left Kosovo accompanied by Russian officials in Pristina," he said.

The driver of the Kosovo consulate in New York is among those recently arrested for money laundering, extortion, and international arms trafficking.

The suspect, Albert Veliu, is also described as "a close associate" of several officials of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).

Serbs targeted in new incident in Kosovska Mitrovica

Two men wearing balaclavas have attacked a Serb man and his common law wife in Kosovska Mitrovica last night, RTS is reporting.

The man, a 41-year-old whose initials are B.K., suffered injuries to his head and leg. RTS said it learned unofficially that the attackers spoke Albanian as they verbally abused the victims.
