BELGRADE - Serbs driven out of their homes in the town of Djakovica in Kosovo, who came back for the Serbian Orthodox Christmas Eve, have once again come under attack.

Similar incidents have happened in previous years. Nobody was injured on Friday, Tanjug is reporting.

Former PM and AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj was detained on Wednesday by police in eastern France on a flight from Pristina on the basis of a Serbian arrest warrant that alleges he committed war crimes while he was a guerrilla commander with the Kosovo Liberation Army, KLA, during the war in Kosovo.

His family confirmed the arrest on Wednesday to Kosovo's public broadcaster RTK.

BELGRADE - Kosovo police have denied media reports about the presence in the region of one of the leaders of the Daesh militant group, Lavdrim Muhaxheri, the Kosovo police press service said on Wednesday.

Shpend Kursani, from the Kosovar Center for Security Studies, says large-scale terrorist attacks organized by groups like ISIS are unlikely to affect the Balkans over the coming holiday.

Details of a major tax fraud were revealed in Kosovo on Thursday by BIRN Kosovo's TV show "Jeta ne Kosove" after it broadcast the first episode of a trilogy on "Organized Tax Theft", revealing how an estimated 25 million euros went missing. 

The Kosovo police have announced that they arrested 19 persons over the past ten days on suspicion they had Islamic State ties.

"The police said the suspects were in contact with Islamic State member, self-declared commander of Albanians in Syria and Iraq Lavdrim Muhaxheri, from whom they received orders to attack," Reuters has reported.

BELGRADE - Kosovo police say they have detained over a dozen people over the last 12 days suspected of plotting terror attacks in the region with the support of the Islamic State (ISIL/ISIS also known as Daesh) terror group, local media report.

A Kosovo police lieutenant has been charged with illegally selling land in the area of the town of Vitina that belonged to a Serb man.

The suspect has been named as Bulent Zenuni.

Kosovo police have said nineteen people have been arrested across the country on suspicions of links to the Islamic State (IS) group and plans to carry out terrorist attacks.

The detainees supposedly sought to act in both Kosovo and Albania, the Bulgarian National Radio quotes officials as saying.

A government official said Kosovo confronted serious security cases after last week's police operation, which ended with 14 suspected members of a pro-ISIS group in detention.

The police sweep came after Kosovo institutions for months tried to calm public fears, saying the number of Kosovo citizens who had joined terrorist organizations in the Middle East lately had fallen fast.
