An instruction issued by the Kosovo Central Election Commission, CEC - which says people can only vote in the elections on October 6 using personal documents issued by Kosovo institutions - has drawn a furious reaction from non-Albanian community representatives.

Kosovo Interior Minister Flamur Sefar has said his sacking on Tuesday was sought by Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj following the controversial arrest and deportation of six Turkish citizens.

Haradinaj said that he had not been duly informed about the "secret and urgent deportation" of the six Turkish nationals.

Two leaders of Kosovo's Vetevendosje [Self determination] Movement, party chairman Visar Ymeri and one of the founders, Albin Kurti, rallied several hundred supporters in Tirana, Albania, on Tuesday, explaining why they oppose the Kosovo parliament adopting a demarcation deal with Montenegro.

The process of implementing EU-led Serbia-Kosovo agreements on the Serbian side is marked by a lack of transparency, while much of the decision-making is in the hands of Srpska List, a Kosovo Serbian party backed by the Belgrade government.
