White House defends Trump's response to Virginia violence
The White House has struggled to defuse the growing criticism of President Donald Trump's initial failure to explicitly condemn white supremacists for their role in the violent protest on Aug. 12 in Virginia, insisting that his condemnation included all such groups.

Kurti: Kosovo to form army in partnership with Albania and Croatia
Alibin Kurti, a candidate for Kosovo prime minister, claims that a new government in Pristina will form an army "in partnership with Albania and Croatia".
"Previous initiatives to form the army have hit an international wall," Kurti said during a debate on Thursday evening broadcast by the Klan Kosova TV, the KoSSev website reported.

Hate groups are flourishing across the United States, according to a new report from the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). Nationwide, the SPLC identified 917 hate groups last year, an increase on 892 in 2015. The number of anti-Muslim groups in particular has risen steeply, almost tripling from 34 in 2015 to 101 in 2016.
