Greek railway system still troubling, says New Left leader
New Left Party leader Alexis Haritsis visited the Hellenic Train engine room in the Attica suburb of Rentis on Wednesday to discuss railway service conditions with employers amid the ongoing investigation into the Tempe rail crash.
The collision in February 2023 resulted in the loss of 57 lives and left numerous others injured.

Discussion on same-sex marriage will start soon, government says
A bill to legalize same-sex marriage neither "freezes" nor is expedited, government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis said on Friday.
"A conversation will have to take place first, which will begin very soon," Marinakis said in an interview with Skai radio. "There will first have to be an exhaustive analysis and description of what we want to accomplish."

However, in a sign of continued divisions, it has been revealed that Meral Aksener, leader of the Good Party, the second biggest in the alliance, opposed the candidacy of Kemal Kilicdaroglu, the leader of the main opposition Republican People's Party, CHP.
Swedish FM slams Left Party over PKK support
Negotiations with Türkiye on Sweden's NATO bid have become more difficult after members of a local party took photos with flags of the PKK terrorist organization, Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde has said.
The incident occurred in the city of Visby when Left Party deputies Daniel Riazat, Momodou Malcolm Jallow and Lorena Delgado Varas posed for a photo waving PKK flags on July 7.
