Ljubljana – Prime Minister Janez Janša has honoured Bojana Beović, an infectious disease specialist who until recently headed the team of experts advising the government on the coronavirus epidemic, with a memorial decoration for her selfless efforts in the fight against the epidemic, according to a post on the government Twitter profile.

Slovenia to receive 25% less Pfizer vaccine next week

Celje – Slovenia will receive 20-25% less Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine than planned on Monday due to production adjustments at Pfizer, Health Ministry State Secretary Marija Magajne told the press on Saturday. This means the first-dosage vaccination will be delayed, and the whole vaccination plan will need to be adjusted.

Slovenia’s daily coronavirus count over 3,000 for first time

Ljubljana – A total of 3,354 coronavirus infections were confirmed in Slovenia on Tuesday from a combined 22,194 PCR and rapid antigen tests, the highest daily number of cases yet, as the positivity rate for PCR tests hit a record high, government data show. A further 31 Covid-19 patients lost their lives.
