Ljubljana – Faris Kočan, a researcher at the Centre of International Relations at the Ljubljana Faculty of Social Sciences, believes the results of the general elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina available so far indicate time may have come for civic ideas as opposed to nationalism.

Survey: Teenage girls much more affected by internet than boys

Ljubljana – Primary and secondary school girls are much more preoccupied and negatively affected by the internet and online content than boys, shows a survey carried out by the Safe.si awareness centre. Girls are more likely to feel pressure, compare themselves with others, experience too little sleep or be affected by negative comments.

Analyst says war in Ukraine turning into war of attrition

Ljubljana – Defence analyst Iztok Prezelj has assessed that the war in Ukraine is gradually turning into a war of attrition in which the side with more technical resources at its disposal will be more successful. He noted that the war could take several more years despite the sanctions, so conditions for coexistence with Russia should be created.

Defence expert says continued Ukraine war failure of diplomacy

Ljubljana – Defence expert Vladimir Prebilič has assessed for the STA that the continuation of the war in Ukraine constitutes a failure of diplomacy, while noting that the pressure from Kyiv on the EU and NATO to provide aid is not productive. He believes that the aid received by Ukraine in the current form is unsustainable in the long run.

Pundit says Ukraine conflict dangerous muscle flexing

Ljubljana – Professor Boštjan Udovič criticised Russia and the US for not making efforts to reduce the growing tensions on the Ukrainian border as he commented on the situation for the STA on Tuesday. He labelled the conflict as muscle flexing similar to that witnessed in Georgia in 2008.

Minister Hojs says Slovenia among eight safest countries

Ljubljana – Interior Minister Aleš Hojs addressed the National Security Day event on Tuesday to note that Slovenia was somewhere between the fifth and eight place on lists of safest countries. He credited the security system and education from the earliest age for this, as well as people who steer activities and planning in this field.
