Rural communities of isolated elders growing
Greece has one of the highest percentages of elderly residents in rural and remote areas in the EU, experiencing insurmountable difficulties, according to a study by the Care Policy and Evaluation Center of the London School of Economics by Maria Karagiannidou, Raphael Wittenberg and Dr Jacqueline Daman in collaboration with Thalia Rizou.

Former minister lost his life at age of 74
Kemal Derviş, Türkiye's former economy minister, has died at the age of 74 in the hospital in Washington where he received treatment.
The former minister had been receiving Parkinson's treatment in the U.S. for a while.
Derviş served as the Economy Minister during an economic crisis in 2000 and 2001, and then was elected as a deputy of the Republican People's Party (CHP).

Bereket Jah, grandson of last Ottoman caliph, dies
Bereket Jah, the last ruler of the Hyderabad state in India and the grandson of the last Ottoman caliph Abdülmecid, has passed away at the age of 89 in Istanbul.
Once one of the richest names in the world, Jah had lived a secluded life in Istanbul since 1996.

Tümen appointed deputy Central Bank governor
Professor Semih Tümen has been appointed deputy governor of Turkey's Central Bank, replacing Oğuzhan Erbaş.
The presidential decree regarding the appointment was published in the Official Gazette. There are four deputy governors at the country's Central Bank.
