Dimitar Kostov Nominated to Head Bulgaria's C-Bank Supervision Dept
Ivan Iskrov, Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) has submitted to Parliament a proposal for the appointment of Dimitar Kostov as head of the Bank Supervision unit of BNB.
The proposal was tabled at around 4 pm on Thursday, according to the press office of BNB, as cited by Darik radio.
Kostov is currently member of the Managing Board of BNB and heads its Banking unit.
Pitic: No Swiss franc rate fix
BELGRADE - There will be no Swiss franc rate fix because such a solution would jeopardize the equal treatment of other clients in Serbia and endanger the basic postulates of the banking sector, Goran Pitic, head of the Managing Board of the Association of Serbian Banks, said on Friday.

Serbian Lawyers Set to Discuss Ending Strike
The Bar Association of Serbia and the Serbian Justice Ministry have agreed that the ministry will amend a controversial Law on Notaries and a set of accompanying laws, paving a way for lawyers to end their prolonged strike.
Lawyers and the ministry signed an agreement that the Managing Board of the Serbian Bar Association will discuss on Saturday, January 10.

NGO activist Miljenko Dereta passes away
BELGRADE - Miljenko Dereta, one of the founders of the non-governmental organization Civic Initiatives (GI) and former MP in the Serbian parliament, died at 65 on Monday morning.
Dereta's family members told Tanjug that his death caught them by surprise, as he had no serious health problems.

Lot 2 of Bulgaria’s Struma Motorway To Be Completed in Autumn of 2015
Lot 2 of the Struma motorway will most probably be completed by the autumn of 2015, according to Bulgaria's caretaker Regional Development Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva.
Zaharieva inspected Tuesday the 37.5km motorway section from Dupnitsa to Blagoevgrad.
Obrenovac: Construction of first houses begins
OBRENOVAC - The contract on the construction of first 10 houses was signed in Obrenovac on Saturday and Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said that in the next 15 days, construction of new houses would also begin in other areas hit by recent floods.
