Organic land area up by one-third
BELGRADE - Serbia's area under organic farming totaled 8,228 hectares in 2013, which is an increase of 32 percent compared to the year before, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) data indicate.

Farmers Agree on Maximum EU Agriculture Subsidies of EUR 300,000
Representatives of Bulgarian agricultural organizations and the Ministry of Agriculture discussed the priorities for the next six-year EU programming period, Tuesday.
The subsidy distribution by sector should be presented in Brussels by July 31, Bulgarian National Radio informs.
Number of Farms in Bulgaria Drops by Two-Thirds in 3 Years
The number of farms in Bulgaria has marked a 2/3 decline, the Agrostatistics department at the Ministry of Agriculture reports using current data.
As of 2013, there were 252 900 farms compared to 665 500 ten years ago, Farmer.bg reports.
