According to Spanish José Maria Blazquez, writer of World Olive Encyclopedia, olive growing started in Anatolia about 6,000 years ago. The world’s oldest-known olive oil production was discovered near the Aegean town of Urla, in the ancient city Clazomenae.

LANDNET conference opens in Belgrade

BELGRADE - Three-day regional agricultural conference LANDNET dedicated to efficient land management, primarily consolidation and lease of land, kicked off in Belgrade on Monday in organization of the Ministry of Agriculture and under the auspices of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FOA) of the United Nations and the German Organization for Technical Cooperation (GIZ).
