Crete to receive 10 mln in emergency aid, says minister
Crete will receive 10 million euros in emergency aid after a fierce storm caused extensive damage to roads, buildings and infrastructure, Infrastructure Minister Christos Spirtzis said on Wednesday.
Speaking to Sto Kokkino FM, Spirtzis said the Finance Ministry had given the green light for the distribution of financial aid late on Tuesday.
Joint Bulgarian-American Military Training Starts at Novo Selo Range
At the "Novo Selo" training field begins the joint Bulgarian-American military excercise, which will last until October 19, 2019, informed the Ministry of Defense press center.
It will involve forces and resources from the Ministry of Defense, the structures of direct subordination to the Minister of Defense and the Bulgarian Army.

Students from the National Military University were attacked last night, January 13, at 19.00 hrs. The incident happened while the cadets traveled from Sliven to the village of Gurkovo, the Ministry of Defense announced.
Greek, US Marines in joint exercise
Ministry of Defense sources say that about 300 US Marines have arrived in Volos to take part in a joint exercise with their Greek counterparts.
Marines from the US' 22 Marine Expeditionary Unit will join Greece's 32nd Marine Brigade in the "Alexander the Great" joint exercise.

Kandahar Airport Comes Under Rocket Attack, There Are no Injured Bulgarians
The base of the International Coalition Force at Kandahar Airport, Afghanistan, was subjected to rocket fire on 20 December 2018 at 00.10 local time (21.40 GMT on December 19, 2018).

Sweden Offers to Bulgaria 10 Gripen Fighters for BGN 1.8 Billion
The Swedish government has optimized the offer for Gripen and is now proposing 10 fighters instead of 8, "said Joakim Wallin, Director of Export and International Relations at Sweden's State Property Defense Agency (FMV), reports Dnevnik.
Vucic visits Ground Safety Zone
The visit will happen "in the next 72 hours," reports said late on Thursday.
RTS reported on Friday afternoon that Vucic had visited army units at an undisclosed location, and that his tour of the area was continuing.
The Ground Safety Zone was established after the 1999 war and runs along the administrative line between Kosovo and central Serbia.
