The Ministry of Finance has revised its autumn forecast for economic development. According to new estimates, real gross domestic product (GDP) growth will reach 4%, and next year will be heading towards 5% with a forecast of 4.9%. The main reason for accelerating economic growth will be investment, as well as the stabilization of the private sector after the Covid crisis.
"In the past four months we started to bring about change with clear goals in mind," Petkov noted at the beginning of the presentation. He stated that the number one priority is to stop corruption. Second - unburden the small and medium-sized enterprises so they can thrive. Three - attract high-tech investments. Four - distribute the resulting prosperity fairly.
"I have received confirmation that I am not a Canadian citizen. The Canadian authorities informed me on Friday that the documents proving this fact had been sent to the Canadian Embassy in Romania, where they could be obtained from me."
This was stated by the Caretaker Minister of Economy Kiril Petkov in his statement.
