Bulgaria's PM Demands Enhanced Police Presence in Villages

Outgoing Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has called on the cabinet to make sure police forces are stationed in every village.

"The Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Finance must find the legal possibility for having a police officer in aevery village, or at least one police officer for two villages," daily 24 Chasa quotes Borisov as saying before a cabinet meeting.

The German Ministry of Finance argues that if the target for the primary surplus of Greece is set to 1,5% as IMF wants, then Greece will need a new funding program of approximately 100 billion Euros.

This will be a new burden for the lenders, and this can not be acceptable according to sources of the German Ministry.

Gov't adopts 2017 budget bill, lowest-ever deficit planned

BELGRADE - The Serbian government on Thursday adopted the 2017 budget bill, with a planned deficit of 1.7 pct of GDP, the lowest-ever in the history of Serbia, the government announced in a statement.

The government is resolved to ensure economic growth and better life for citizens in 2017 as well, the statement said.

The adopted budget bill was sent to the parliament.

Fukushima nuclear decommission, compensation costs to almost double-media

TOKYO, Nov 28 (Reuters) - Japan's trade ministry has almost doubled the estimated cost of compensation for the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster and decommissioning of the damaged Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear plant to more than 20 trillion yen ($177.51 billion), the Nikkei business daily reported on Nov. 27. 

Funding for Rozhen Observatory Not Included in Budget 2017

Scientists from the National Observatory in Rozhen, who have had problems with funding their work for years, are hoping to get BGN 550,000 in the beginning of 2017, according to Dnevnik.bg

Although these funds have been promised, they are not included in the draft budget for 2017, approved at first reading last week.

Tsipras reshuffles cabinet to appease creditors, retains key ministers

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras reshuffled his cabinet late on Friday, removing ministers who have expressed opposition to the austerity measures and economic measures demanded by Greece’s international creditors, but retaining his ministers of finance and foreign affairs.
