Ciovid-19 Outbreak at Lyubimets Migrant Centre
An outbreak of coronavirus was reported on August 18 at the migrant centre in Lyubimets, South-Eastern Bulgaria.
A few days ago, two infected people were registered at the centre. They were in hospital, but have already been discharged. Nineteen epople from their contacts have tested positive.
They have been isolated. Complete disinfection is assigned in the centre.

Bulgaria: Covid Outbreak at Refugee Camp in Lyubimets

More than 40 illegal migrants have been detained in various places in Sofia for a day. They are mostly young men as most of them are Afghans fleeing the Taliban regime. Investigators say there are also Syrians and Iraqis among the migrants.

The probe comes after the release of video footage dated July 10 2020, acquired from the cameras of the Ministerial Council, which has caused fresh concerns about unsanctioned police brutality during the 2020-2021 protests.
Tragedy: Two Children Drawn in Dam in Burgas
Two children drowned in the waters of Mandra Dam in Burgas. The boys, aged 11 and 13, entered the dam near Meden Rudnik complex on Saturday evening to swim.
Their parents reported to the police that they had not returned and the police began searching. What happened and how dangerous can swimming be there answered one of the officers involved in the operation.

Bulgarian Prosecution Knew about Released Video Tape with Police Brutality
The prosecutor's office has taken the case of police violence under the columns of the Council of Ministers under special supervision, Nova TV reports.
The pre-trial proceedings were initiated last year, but there is no evidence that any of the police officers identified as participants have been prosecuted.
Almost 200 Wild Fires in Bulgaria for Last 24 Hrs
For the past 24 hours, there has been 198 fires, that have been brought under control by firefighters, forestry workers, with the support of the Bulgarian Army and volunteers. At the moment, all fires on the territory of the country are suppressed, the Ministry of Interior announced on August 6.

Caretaker Financial Minister Vassilev: We Continue Our Work
Ministry of Finance requested by the Ministry of Interior to conduct a check over the digging operations in Varna Lake.
The request was announced to BTV by the acting Minister of Finance Asen Vassilev. He clarified that for this case his administration does not have certain conclusions for a committed crime and therefore directs the signal to the "Economy Police".
Bulgaria: Unmarked Police Car Hit Child on Crosswalk,Who Later Died in Hospital
Today at about 11.40 am on the main street in the village of Bratanitsa in Pazardzhik, an employee of the Ministry of Interior with an official car hit an 8-year-old girl on a crossroad, BNR reported.
According to witnesses, the child suddenly jumped on the road.
Teams of local police and an ambulance were sent to the scene.
