Data from Winter 2018/2019 Season Show Bulgaria Manages to Keep High Tourism Levels

The data from December 2018 to February 2019 show that we have managed to keep tourism levels of the record last year, Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova said in response to a question by GERB MP Alexander Matsurev on the results of the 2018/2019 winter season and forecast for the summer season, Focus News Agency reports.

Bulgarian Tourism Minister Suggests Hotels to Give a Bonus of a Free Night Stay

The Ministry of Tourism starts a new initiative - "Unexpected vacation". It provides for two paid nights in April and May for tourists to receive a third free of charge from hoteliers.

The Tourism Minister Bans the Conclusion of Contract of a Beach on Bulgaria's Black Sea Coast

On the orders of the Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelova there will be no contract for renting a beach "Lipite".
 
The reason is that, despite the expectation of providing pedestrian access to the strip, this will not happen until the opening of the summer season 2019. According to the Black Sea Coast Planning Act, free pedestrian access is a must-have condition for tourists.

512 000 Russian Tourists Visited Bulgaria in 2018

The tourist business in Bulgaria relies on bilateral political support from the highest level to attract Russian tourists to Bulgaria. Data from the Ministry of Tourism indicate that early registrations of Russian tourists this year have decreased by 25%.

Last year, 512,000 Russian tourists visited Bulgaria, placing them in sixth place among foreigners.
