Central Bank likely to keep policy rate steady this week
Most economists expect Türkiye's Central Bank to keep its policy rate steady at 50 percent when members of the Monetary Policy Committee meet later this week on Sept. 19.
In August, the monetary authority held the one-week repo auction rate unchanged at 50 percent for a fifth straight month. The bank last raised rates in March by 500 basis points.

Türkiye's Central Bank has decided to opt for lifting the key policy rate, increasing the one-week repo auction rate from 45 percent to 50 percent.
Most economists had expected the Central Bank, which held the policy rate steady last month after eight straight increases, to keep the rate unchanged at the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting on March 21.
Rate on credit card cash advances increased
The Central Bank has raised the monthly maximum interest rate on credit card cash withdrawals from 4.42 percent to 5 percent.
The bank's decision, which aimed at curbing credit card spending, was published in the Official Gazette on March 16 and came into force.

Annual inflation climbs to 67 percent last month
Türkiye's annual inflation rate accelerated from 64.86 percent in January to 67 percent in February, but the pace of monthly inflation increase slowed, the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) have shown.
Consumer prices advanced 4.53 percent month-on-month, down from 6.7 percent in January.
