A group attacked Nation Alliance vice presidential candidate and İstanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's election bus with stones during his rally in the eastern province of Erzurum on May 7, as some of those who attended the rally were injured.

İmamoglu said that a maximum of 300-400 "instigated people" organized the attack, but the police did not interfere with these people.

Turkey's opposition alliance has vowed to reverse many of  President Tayyip Erdogan's policies if elected in a May 14 election, including a return to a parliamentary democracy and economic orthodoxy, and a major shift in foreign policy.

Republican People's Party (CHP) leader and the presidential candidate of the Nation Alliance Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has promised to raise the lowest civil servant salary to 2.5 times the minimum wage if he is elected.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has promised on May 4 a further increase for the second half of the year in wages of employees and retirees.

"In July, we will further relieve our employees and retirees with new increases that take into account both the inflation gap and the welfare share," he said holding a rally in the Black Sea province of Giresun.

Türkiye has been polarized, but the country needs to unite again, Nation Alliance presidential candidate and Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said on May 3.

"We have to strengthen democracy. We're so divided. We were divided into camps. Türkiye can't take it. We have to be together," he said holding a rally in the Black Sea province of Sinop.

The government has been working hard to carry Türkiye a step forward after bringing the country to the current level with the policy of "work and service," President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on May 2.

Republican People's Party (CHP) leader and Nation Alliance presidential candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said on May 2 that he would respect different identities of Türkiye and serve all of them if he is elected at May 14 polls.
