National HIV Actional Plan initiated by Health Ministry and University of Athens

The Health Ministry and the Medical School of the University of Athens set the course for a National Action Plan for HIV on Thursday. 

The plan's objective is to align Greece with targets outlined by the World Health Organization for the effective management of AIDS.

Health ministry, Unicef pledge to combat child obesity in Greece

Greece and UNICEF on Thursday signed a cooperation agreement to help prevent and combat child obesity on Thursday. The agreement was signed by Minister for Health Thanos Plevris, General Secretary for Public Health Irini Agapidaki, and UNICEF's Representative in Greece Luciano Calestini.

PM unveils ambitious national road safety action plan

Aiming to rectify Greece's poor statistical record of road accidents, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis presented the National Action Plan for Improved Road Safety on Wednesday.

The 450-million-euro program is to financed by the European Investment Bank, and seeks targeted improvements in 7,000 highly dangerous locations across the country.

Just 10% of Disabled in Bulgaria Employed

In figures released by the National Social Security Institute persons with disabilities registered in Bulgaria are 689,187, of them 281,000 at a working age, according to BNR.

In unofficial statistics only 10% of them are employed - the estimate was announced at a press conference on creating employment for persons with disabilities.

Djordjevic: Cooperation with UN for further reforms

BELGRADE - Cooperation with the UN and its specialized agencies and bodies has been of great significance for furthering the reform process, which is especially important for Serbia's progress towards EU membership, noted Minister of Defense Zoran Djordjevic at a meeting with UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative for Serbia Irena Vojackova Sollorano.
