Top health officials warn about possibility of fifth Covid wave
Ljubljana – Health Minister Janez Poklukar and the head of the Medical Chamber Bojana Beović warned about the possibility of the fifth wave of Covid infections. Poklukar thinks that another wave could emerge in February next year as a result of an insufficient vaccination rate.
Opposition wants minister to resign over vaccination death, he sees no reason to do so
Ljubljana – Four opposition parties called on Health Minister Janez Poklukar to resign over the vaccination death of a young woman after the newspaper Dnevnik reported that Poklukar and his team were the authors of the decree granting a Covid pass as soon as a person receives the Johnson & Johnson jab. The minister sees no reason to step down.
Pfizer jab recommended in Slovenia for under 30s
Ljubljana – Slovenia will follow the recommendation of the national advisory committee on immunisation to use the Pfizer vaccine for those under 30 years old, Health Minister Janez Poklukar said on Monday. In general, the use of mRNA vaccines will be recommended over viral vector vaccines.

Vaccination of matura students to start next Friday
Ljubljana – Final-year secondary school pupils will have a chance to get vaccinated against Covid-19 as early as next Friday ahead of the school-leaving examinations due to begin in May under an upgraded national vaccination strategy adopted by the government on Thursday.
