Apollo astronaut Gene Cernan has passed away
Gene Cerman died at the age of 82. He was in NASA’s 1972 Apollo 17 mission to the Moon and was the last astronaut that walked on its surface.
On that day up there he had said that ”we leave as we came and, God willing, as we shall return, with peace and hope for all mankind”.
Of the twelve people that walked on the Moon only six are still alive.

The biggest and brightest full moon in nearly 70 years has lit up skies across the world.
Stargazers were treated to the spectacular ‘supermoon’ where it appeared 14 per cent larger and 30 per cent brighter than usual.
The event, described as “undeniably beautiful” by US space agency Nasa, is the result of the Moon coming closer to Earth than it has done since 1948.
