Following NASA’s announcement regarding water on Mars, the agency continues to fascinate us with a new discovery about Pluto this time.

Alan Stern, a planetary scientist for the agency has revealed there will be an “amazing” discovery announced this Thursday, while speaking to an audience at the University of Alberta.

NASA’s revelation that liquid water exists on the surface of Mars was “manna from the heavens” for 20th Century Fox’s new sci-fi film “The Martian”, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Cynics quickly pounced on the coincidence.

Briny water flows during the summer months on Mars, raising the possibility that the planet long thought to be arid could support life today, scientists analyzing data from a NASA spacecraft said Sept. 28.

Here’s the NASA announcement of of its ground-breaking discovery:

“A primitive ocean on Mars held more water than Earth’s Arctic Ocean, according to NASA scientists who, using ground-based observatories, measured water signatures in the Red Planet’s atmosphere.

India launched its first space research observatory and several U.S. satellites Sept. 28, part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi?s drive to expand his country?s influence in the competitive, $300 billion global space industry.

Nasa is going to reveal a “major science finding” from its Mars exploration mission giving rise to rumors that they have found traces of liquid water on the red planet.

People rushed to take photos of the rare eclipse of the supermoon on September 27. NASA says that total eclipses of super full moons are rare and have only occured 5 times in the 1900s (1910, 1928, 1946, 1964 and 1982). The next Supermoon eclipse is due in another 18 years.

World Tourism Day on Sept 27 coincides with the rare supermoon total lunar eclipse, a phenomenon that hasn’t happened since 1982. Over the past 115 years there have been only five of them and the next one is due in 2018.

The moon will be just 387,472 km meaning that it will be 13% larger than normal, making it a sight worth seeing.

When to see it:

For the first time in decades, stargazers are in for the double spectacle of a swollen ?super moon? bathed in the blood-red light of a total eclipse on Sept. 28.

NASA Administrator Charles Bolden, a former space shuttle commander, said that the dream of sending a manned mission to planet Mars is closer to reality than ever before.
