Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev handed over the second mandate to form a government to GERB-UDF on August 20. GERB-UDF's Prime Minister-designate Daniel Mitov handed back the mandate.

The emergency epidemic situation in Bulgaria will be extended by 3 months. This decision was made by the government at today's meeting of the Council of Ministers.

The news was announced by the Minister of Health Dr. Stoycho Katsarov.

The third term depends on the return of "There is such a people" to the negotiating table, but a coalition agreement must be signed to keep GERB and the MRF away from power.

This was stated before BNT by the MP from "Democratic Bulgaria" Ivaylo Mirchev.

The head of the parliament, Iva Miteva, who is an MP from "There Is Such a People", spoke out against political populism.

She appealed to the parliament, the president and the Council of Ministers to stop populism and start talking about real action.

"If we continue this way, we will have more peaks of the disease. The level of collective immune protection is very low and is not able to protect us. We continue to fail to implement effective measures against the spread of the virus.

According to the minister, the project for modernization of the Air Force envisages the acquisition of combat vehicles in two stages of eight fighters.

President Rumen Radev handed over a mandate to form a government to the candidate for Prime Minister Daniel Mitov, nominated by the second-largest parliamentary group in the 46th National Assembly - GERB-SDS. Mitov immediately returned the mandate, as his party had stated prior to today's events.

Bulgaria's Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev after all came to the National Assembly to participate in the sitting of the Legal Affairs Committee. In parliamentary lobby before journalists Geshev expressed his jcontent that he was invited to the National Assembly, although respect between the institutions means tha reasonable time span should be given for this to happen.
