Turkey faces tough France test at Eurobasket

A tough test awaits Turkey on Sept. 12 at Eurobasket 2015 when it takes on title favorite France, led by all-time Eurobasket top scorer Tony Parker, for a quarterfinal berth.

The "12 Giant Men" finished Group B fourth after a 111-102 victory in overtime against Iceland on Sept. 10 to set up the Round of 16 clash with France in Lille.

2015 Eurobasket starts on September 5

Preparation matches for European national basketball teams are over as they line up for the opening jump ball of the 2015 Eurobasket championships in just two days (September 5). It is the first time in history that the competition will be hosted in 4 European countries -Berlin, Germany; Montpellier, France; Riga, Latvia; and Zagreb, Croatia.

Bulgaria's Rising Basketball Star Vezenkov Reportedly Joins Barcelona

Bulgaria's rising basketball star Aleksandar Vezenkov reportedly signed a four-year contract with Barcelona.

The 19-year-old power forward joins the Spanish club after spending four years at the Greek team Aris Thessaloniki, daily Dnevnik reports.

According to media reports, among the other clubs expressing interest towards Vezenkov were Olympiacos, Panathinaikos and Valencia.

Bank Hapoalim says its Turkish bank gets takeover approach

Bank Pozitif has received an initial takeover approach from a potential investor, the Turkish bank's parent company Bank Hapoalim said on May 12.

Hapoalim, Israel's largest lender, said in a statement to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange that the unnamed investor has offered to buy all of Pozitif's outstanding shares, including the 70 percent stake held by Hapoalim.
