The Romanian girls' mathematics team won one gold medal, two silver medals and one bronze medal at the 8th edition of the European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO), which takes place in Kiev, between 7 and 13 April, a release of the National Education Ministry (MEN) sent to AGERPRES on Friday informs.

President Klaus Iohannis stated on Wednesday that the private sector, slandered by some politicians "tributary to communist, authoritarian reflexes," deserves to be appreciated because it fills the need of the community which the current government ignores.

Romanian students who participated in the International Chemistry Olympiad 2018 (IChO) won three silver and one bronze medals, informs the Ministry of National Education in a release on Wednesday sent to AGERPRES.

Romania's Geography Olympic team won two gold, two silver and three bronze medals at the Balkan Geography Olympiad, which was held in Iasi between 24-29 June, thus placing Romania first in the ranking of nations.

As many as 10,000 tickets have already been sold for the 22nd edition of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS), held between June 12-22, as announced by the organizers.

Theatre lovers have ten more days at their disposal to buy one of the 11,000 tickets left.

The two teams representing Romania to the 13th edition of the European Union Science Olympiad (EUSO), carried out in Klagenfurt (Austria), over April 26-May 3, conquered one silver and one bronze medal.

The Prodemo Party's candidate for presidential elections, Mirel Mircea Amaritei said that he has voted for a prosperous Romania.

"I have voted for a Romania of prosperity, progress and pro-democracy. Romania, you are Pro today," Amaritei said on Sunday after voting at the "George Enescu" National College of Music.
