PSD's Dragnea: National Executive Committee to reject, approve candidacies
The candidacy files will be rejected or approved on Friday during the National Executive Committee (CExN, ed. n.) of the Social Democratic Party (PSD, main at rule, ed. n.) said on Thursday the party's national leader Liviu Dragnea, urging the ones with "the exaggerated rows" to think of the political formation they are part of.

Prime Minister Mihai Tudose has announced, on Friday evening, at the end of the meeting of the National Executive Committee (CExN) of the Social Democrat Party (PSD), that he has lost the support of the party and will resign as Prime Minister, Agerpres reported.
"I am leaving with my head held high", Tudose said.

Nigel Farage will stay on at the helm of the UK Independence Party, party chairman Steve Crowther announced on Monday.
Crowther said in a statement the party's National Executive Committee has refused to accept Farage's decision to quit after failing to win a seat in last week's election because it "concluded that UKIP's general election campaign had been a great success."

Dragnea states that Geoana and Vanghelie sabotaged PSD during electoral campaign
The executive chairman of the Social Democrat Party (PSD), Liviu Dragnea, stated, on Wednesday evening, that the main reason for which Mircea Geoana and Marian Vanghelie were expelled from the party was that they sabotaged the activity ongoing during the presidential election campaign, it being "the straw that broke the camel's back" due to "several reasons" that appeared previously.
