O.J. Simpson, former NFL star acquitted of murder, dead at 76
O.J. Simpson, the American football star whose 1995 acquittal in the so-called "trial of the century" for the murder of his ex-wife and a male friend gripped the world, has died at the age of 76.
Once a beloved national figure, his fame turned to infamy after the savage killing of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in a suburb of Los Angeles.
One dead, children among 21 injured in Super Bowl parade shooting
One person was killed and multiple children were among 21 injured after a mass shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl victory rally on Wednesday triggered panic among huge crowds of fans.
Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, which takes patients up to the age of 17, said it was treating 12 people — 11 of them children, nine for gunshot wounds — after the shooting.

Djokovic plays golf at Ryder Cup in Rome
ROME - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis, took part in the Ryder Cup golf tournament in Rome on Wednesday.
He featured in a celebrity all-star match between Team Monty and Team Pavin.
Djokovic represented Team Monty alongside former footballer Gareth Bale, surfer Leonardo Fioravanti, content creator Garrett Hilbert and golfer Kipp Popert.

Scary injuries mar NFL pre-season games
Frightening injuries sustained by Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback John Wolford and New England Patriots rookie Isaiah Bolden marred a pair of NFL pre-season games on Aug. 19.
Wolford was stretchered off with a neck injury in the Bucs' 13-6 victory over the Jets in New York.
