Hottest Day of the Year in Bulgaria: Code Red in 7 Provinces for Dangerously High Temperatures
Today will be mostly sunny. After noon and overnight Thursday, with the passage of a well-defined cold front, temperatures will drop quickly. In many places there will be short-term rains and thunderstorms, in some areas they will be intense and significant in quantity, there will also be hail, announced the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued an orange code for high temperatures of over 40 degrees Celsius today for 16 provinces in Bulgaria. For the remaining 12 areas, the heat code is yellow.
Weather in Bulgaria: Heatwave with Temperatures up to 38 Degrees Today
Today it will be sunny, around and after noon - hot. A light easterly wind will blow. The maximum temperatures will be between 33°C and 38°C, in Sofia - about 33°C, reported the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).
Did a Meteorite Hit Bulgaria Last Night? (VIDEO)
A bright light falling in the sky was noticed by hundreds of people in Sofia, Vidin, Lom, Ikhtiman, Plovdiv and other cities and villages in the country minutes before 10 p.m. last night. Users on social networks also published footage from security cameras showing a ball of bright light, which is supposed to be a meteorite.

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued a yellow code for high temperatures for today for 21 provinces in Bulgaria.
Yellow and Orange Rain Codes have been announced in 15 Provinces in Central and Eastern Bulgaria
A yellow and orange code for short-term and temporarily intense rainfall was issued for 15 provinces in Eastern and Central Bulgaria on Friday (July 7). Orange is the code for three provinces - Veliko Tarnovo, Targovishte, Shumen, and yellow for the rest. There are also conditions for hail. This is according to the forecast of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology.
