Number of new coronavirus cases at almost 600 on Wednesday

Ljubljana – A total of 597 new coronavirus infections were confirmed in 4,636 PCR tests in Slovenia on Wednesday, which means 12.9% of the tests came back positive. Currently, 450 people are in hospitals, including 123 in intensive care, government data show. Four Covid-19 patients died and 45 have been discharged from hospital.

COVID vaccination campaign/ 80,391 persons immunized in past 24 hours

The National COVID-19 Vaccination Coordination Committee (CNCAV) informs that, in the past 24 hours, 80,391 vaccine doses were administered, of which 64,001 - Pfizer, 8,056 - Moderna and 8,334 - AstraZeneca, according to data made available by the National Institute for Public Health through the National Electronic Vaccination Registry application.

Anti-COVID vaccination campaign/88,884 persons immunised in last 24 hours

The National Committee for Vaccination Activities against SARS-CoV-2 (CNCAV) informs that, in the past 24 hours, there were inoculated 88,884 doses of vaccine, of which 68,966 Pfizer, 10,038 Astra Zeneca and 9,880 Moderna, according to the data made available by the National Institute for Public Health through the National Electronic Vaccination Registry application.

Vaccination coordinator blames info commissioner for vaccination problems

Ljubljana – National vaccination coordinator Jelko Kacin pointed the finger at Information Commissioner Mojca Prelesnik last night when asked about problems in vaccination organisation on a current affairs show broadcast by RTV Slovenija. Prelesnik denied the accusation, saying the responsibility for delays lay solely with the government.

Event organisers want gradual return of public events

Ljubljana – Musicians and event organisers are pushing for the gradual relaunch of public events and the revival of the events sector after several countries already took steps in this direction. They believe now is the time to save the summer season and the sector, and that their proposals should be included in the next stimulus package.
