The National Institute of Statistics (INS) announced on Wednesday that it is canceling the publication of the June 17, 2020 press release regarding the tourist expenses of non-residents in Romania related to the first quarter due to the data collection problems during the restrictive measures imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Romania's annual inflation rate fell to 2.3% in May 2020, from 2.7% in April, given that food prices rose by 5.25% , services by 2.6%, and non-food goods by 0.15%, according to data released on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). Official statistics also show that between January 1 and March 31, 2020, FOB exports amounted to 17.07 billion euros and CIF imports amounted to 21.53 billion euros.

The volume of turnover for retail trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased in the first three months of this year, compared to the same period last year, both as gross series and as series adjusted to the number of working days and seasonality by 9.4pct and 7.5pct, respectively, informs the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
