Spinalonga to light up in 2024
After twenty years of adventures, the process of approvals and licenses began so that the construction of the Spinalonga electricity project can start. At Least 55 Elephants Died of Starvation in just Two Months in Zimbabwe
At least 55 elephants have died of starvation in Zimbabwe's largest national park in the past two months as heavy droughts force animals to seek food and water in neighboring areas, the Associated Press reported.
"The problem is real and the situation is terrible," said a spokesman for the local National Park Service. It has been the largest drought in the country for years.

Drug overdoses on rise in Europe: EU watchdog
Death by drug overdose is on the rise in Europe spurred by more lethal strains of heroin, the EU's drug monitoring body warned in a report released on June 6.
A total of 8,441 people succumbed to a drug overdose in 2015, a total that has risen for the third consecutive year, the European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Addiction said.
