Dozens of debtors have committed to pay more than BGN 9 million for taxes and social security contributions in the next 2 weeks, the NRA announced.

There is a new surge in phishing attacks with fake e-mails about outstanding liabilities to the National Revenue Agency (NRA). Fake messages are sent on behalf of private enforcement agents, the NRA has warned. In recent days, thousands of Bulgarians have received intimidating letters on their e-mails.

Bulgaria's caretaker government has decided to set up a working group to take action in response to the sanctions imposed by the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the Council of Ministers' press office said.

For the period 2017-2020, Bulgarian revenue agencies have written off tax liabilities of over BGN 10 billion. For previous periods the amount is similar. This became clear from the second press conference of the caretaker Minister of Finance Asen Vassilev.

 According to the Minister, about BGN 2-3 billion in uncollected taxes are written off every year.

Finance Minister Assen Vassilev Friday announced personnel changes in the revenue agencies and their priorities at a news briefing on Friday. The caretaker cabinet has replaced the heads of the National Revenue Agency (NRA) andthe National Customs Agency (NCA).

The new design of the measure is currently underway. Under the 60/40 payroll support measure, nearly BGN 800 million reached the business," said Minister of Economy Lachezar Borisov.
