Bulgaria's Exports to the EU Increase by 3.6 %

Between January and August 2019 Bulgaria's exports to the EU increased by 3.6 percent compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to BGN 25 790.2 million, preliminary data from the National Statistical Institute show. In August 2019, exports to the EU decreased by 4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to BGN 3 160.6 million, BTA reports.

NSI: The Number of Employees under Labour Contract Decreased by 39.1 Thousand or 1.7% as Compared to the End of June 2019

According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), at the end of September 2019 the number of employees under labour contract decreased by 39.1thousand, or 1.7%, compared to the end of June 2019, reaching 2.31million, the NSI said in a press release.

NSI: The Total Consumer Confidence Indicator Has Increased Over the Last Year

In October 2019, the total consumer confidence indicator increases by 1.1 percentage points in comparison with July, as for the urban population the increase is 1.0 percentage point and for the rural population - 1.6 percentage points, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) reported in a consumer survey.

NSI: The Total Business Climate Indicator Decreases by 1.4 Percentage Points Compared to the Previous Month

In October 2019, the total business climate indicator decreases by 1.4 percentage points compared to the previous month as a result of the more unfavourable conjuncture in industry, construction and retail trade. Industry, the National Statistical Institute reported in a press release.

In August 2019, there were 3 391 accommodation units with more than 10 beds operating in the country - hotels, motels, campsites, chalets and other short-stay accommodations. The number of rooms in them is 141.7 thousand, and the beds - 325.4 thousand.

Vacant Properties Increased by 24%

Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Netanya and Haifa are the most prominent cities with the highest percentage of empty homes. The share of vacant properties in the whole country has increased by 24% from 2012. As of mid-2019, 170,300 units are not occupied of more than 9 months. This is 6.5% of Israel's housing stock, according to the National Statistical Institute of the country.
