In March 2017, the Total Business Climate Indicator Up To 2.9% Compared to February

In March 2017, the total business climate indicator increased by 2.9 points compared to February, which was caused by the improved business climate in the industry, construction, and retail trade, a statistic of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) shows.

Unemployed Bulgarians Fewer, Share of Active Ones Shrinks

The National Statistical Institute reports that in 2016 the unemployed in Bulgaria were by 19 percent fewer, but at the same time the share of economically active people shrank by 0.6 percent on 2015, quoted by BNR.

The total number of the employed was 3.016M or 49.3 percent of the population aged 15+. The employment coefficient in men stood at 66.7 percent and in women at 60%.

Bulgaria Reports Negative Trade Balance With EU for 2016

In 2016, Bulgaria's exports to the EU increased by 7.2%, compared to 2015 and reached BGN 31.153 B, showed data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI).

The main trading partners of Bulgaria were Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece and France, which accounted for 63.8% of the exports to EU member-states.

Bulgaria Posts GDP Increase Above 3% for 2nd Consecutive Year

Bulgaria Posted 1.3% inflation in January

Inflation in Bulgaria was 1.3% last month compared to December, national statistics show.

According to the latest data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), the inflation rate in January 2017 compared to January 2016 was 1.4%.

The annual average inflation in February 2016 - January 2017 was negative (-0.7%) compared to the previous 12 months.

Bulgaria's GDP Up 3.4% in Q4, 2016

The Bulgarian economy grew by 3.4% between October and December compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the national statistics agency says in a flash estimate.

GDP increased by 0.9% quarter-on-quarter, according to seasonally adjusted data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI). GVA increase in the fourth quarter of 2016 is also 0.9%.
