Bulgaria Registered Economic Growth of 2.9 % Y/Y in Q1

According to preliminary figures of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) released on Tuesday, Bulgaria registered an economic growth of 2.9 % in the first quarter of this year compared to the same quarter of 2015.

The GDP exceeded BGN 18.5 B, amounting to BGN 2589 per capita. This represented an increase of 0.7 % compared to the last quarter of 2015.

Bulgarian Farmland Prices Keep Rising, Up 7% Y/Y in 2015  

Prices of arable land in Bulgaria continued to rise last year, maintaining their upward trend for a sixth year running,official statistics show.

The average price of arable land has risen by 7.5% year-on-year in 2015 transactions, reaching BGN 761 per decare, or 1,000 square meters, the National Statistical Institute said in a statement on Friday.

Bulgaria's Government Deficit, Debt Stood at 2.1 %, 26.7 % in 2015

According to preliminary figures of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) released on Thursday, Bulgaria's government deficit and debt decreased last year compared to 2014.

The general government institutional sector deficit was in excess of BGN 1.7 B, amounting to 2.1 % of GDP.

Bulgarian Households' Income, Expenditure Both Rise in 2015

Bulgaria's annual total income average per capita has increased by 2.9% year-on-year in 2015, reaching BGN 4,953, a new statistical survey has found.

The total income average per household member has increased 2.2 times compared with 2004, according to data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI).

Bulgaria Had Negative Balance of Trade in January-February

According to preliminary figures of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) released on Monday, Bulgaria had a negative balance of trade with the EU and third countries in the first two months of this year.

In January 2016, Bulgarian exports to the EU exceeded BGN 2.2 B, which represented a decrease of 1.4 % compared to the same month last year.
