BELGRADE - Serbia's real GDP growth in Q2 2023 was at 1.7 pct y-o-y, in line with a flash estimate, and real GDP growth for Q1 2023 was revised upwards from 0.7 pct to 0.9 pct y-o-y, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) said on Friday.

BELGRADE - Serbia registered 4.7 pct more tourist visits in June 2023 relative to the same month of last year and the number of overnight stays was up by 0.9 pct, according to figures released by the national statistical office.

Overnight stays generated by Serbian tourists were down by 5.6 pct y-o-y, while those generated by foreign tourists were up by 10.4 pct y-o-y.

BELGRADE - Serbia's May 2023 industrial turnover was down by 7.1 pct relative to the same month of last year, the national statistical office has said.

Relative to the 2022 average, it was down by 2.7 pct.

By sectors, the mining sector registered a 1.1 pct turnover decline y-o-y, while the manufacturing industry turnover fell by 7.3 pct.

Overnight stays generated by Serbian tourists were up by 8.5 pct y-o-y, while those generated by foreign tourists were up by 44.6 pct y-o-y.

Overnight stays generated by Serbian tourists were down by 4.8 pct y-o-y, while those generated by foreign tourists were up by 39.2 pct y-o-y.

BELGRADE - According to figures released by the national statistical office, Serbian January inflation amounted to 1.4 pct, or 15.8 pct relative to January 2022, which is consistent with National Bank of Serbia (NBS) expectations, the central bank said in a statement.

"Around two-thirds of headline inflation remain attributable to food and energy prices.
