Gov't passes budget revision ordinance

Romanian economy slows down to 4.1 percent in 2019

The Romanian economy slowed down to 4.1 percent last year, after 4.4 percent in 2018 and 7.1 percent in 2017, show flash estimates released by the National Institute of Statistics on Friday. The GDP advance in Q4 2019 from the previous quarter was 1.5 percent, while growth in the third quarter was 0.6 percent QoQ.

PM Dancila: Procedure to request funding through FDI to be simplified

Prime Minister Viorica Dancila announced on Thursday that the Development and Investment Fund (FDI) will be extended in order to complete and arrange the storage and preservation spaces of agricultural products and the procedure for requesting the fund through this programme will be simplified by eliminating the construction permit from the list of necessary documents when lodging the file.

Prognosis Commission revises 2019 year-end inflation estimate upwards to 3.2 pct

The National Strategy and Prognosis Commission (CNSP) revised upwards to 3.2 pct its year-end inflation forecast for 2019, changing also its average exchange rate estimates upwards to 4.74 lei/euro, according to the CNSP Spring Outlook 2019 - 2022.

Prognosis Commission maintains GDP growth projection at 5.5 pct, raises exchange rate forecast

In its winter Outlook of the Major Macroeconomic Indicators 2018 - 2022, the National Strategy and Prognosis Commission maintains its estimation of the growth of Romania's economy this year at 5.5 percent and its forecast for the rate of inflation at the end of 2019 at 2.8 pct, but changed upwards its exchange rate forecast from 4.62 lei/euro to 4.67 lei/euro.
