The Interior Ministry's Internal Control Unit is poised to unveil its findings regarding the leaked emails of Greek voters abroad, declared Deputy Minister of Interior, Theodoros Livanios.

Former transport and infrastructure minister Kostas A. Karamanlis, who resigned in the aftermath of the deadly train collision in central Greece that claimed 57 lives and left scores injured on February 28, 2023, issued a statement on the one-year anniversary of the incident on Wednesday.

Parliament is poised to vote the same-sex marriage bill, with the help of three center-left and left-wing opposition parties.

Passage of the bill will bestow full parental rights upon same-sex couples, although it would not allow male partners to have children born in Greece through surrogacy.

In a meeting at the Maximos Mansion on Thursday, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with Manfred Weber, President and Head of the European People's Party (EPP). 

Weber's visit to Greece included participation in an event co-organized by the Greek ruling party New Democracy and the EPP. 

The Greek government's bill legalizing gay marriage and adoption rights is receiving widespread support among parliamentarians during a debate at the committee level on Monday.

New Democracy MP Theodoros Roussopoulos has been elected as the president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

Roussopoulos is the 35th PACE president since 1949 and the first Greek national to hold this office. Presidents serve a one-year term, which may be renewed once. 

A lawyer who represented former MEP Yiannis Lagos of the now disbanded Golden Dawn party has been permanently disbarred from the Athens Bar Association after a decision on Wednesday by the Secondary Disciplinary Council, chaired by Supreme Court President Ioanna Klapa-Christodoulea.

Labor Minister Adonis Georgiadis has urged New Democracy MPs to align with the conservative party line and support an amendment aimed at granting work permits to approximately 30,000 irregular migrants.

The Supreme Court has ruled that the Patrida party of Afroditi Latinopoulou cannot contest the upcoming elections due to issues with its name.

In a unanimous decision, the court upheld a complaint from outgoing MP Konstantinos Bogdanos, whose Patriotic Force for Change party is commonly known by its abbreviation Patrida, about the name of Latinopoulou's organization.

Police are investigating after what is believed to be an air rifle was shot towards the political office of New Democracy MP Dimitris Markopoulos in Nikaia, near Piraeus.

No one was injured in the attack which took place shortly before 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
