Attack at “Proto Thema” is an attack on freedom of press

Politicians disapproved the cowardly attack at the offices of Proto Thema and protothema.gr which caused damages and put employees’ lives in danger.

Almost all political parties condemned the attack and expressed their disapproval of such actions which aim to undermine the freedom of speech.

Greek PM Alexis Tsipras attacks IMF, EU institutions and New Democracy

Addressing his party caucus Monday night, Greek PM Alexis Tsipras said ‘Indeed using a credit event in negotiations is nonsense’, responding to IMF Director, Christine Lagarde’s comment on the wikileaks revelations regarding the Funds negotiating tactics to pressure Greece to cave into to harsher fiscal measures.

Mistotakis: Tsipras is the biggest liar since 1974

Leader of Greece’s major opposition party New Democracy, Kyriakos Mitsotakis said the timing was ‘politically good’ for the conservative party addressing a ND event Monday in Athens. He added, however, that the timing for the country was problematic and attacked Greek PM Alexis Tsipras accusing him of ‘having told the greatest lies after 1974′ in Greek politics.

Cracks appear in SYRIZA due to migration bill

Greek parliament approved in principle on Friday a bill on migration activating the EU-Turkey agreement and allowing the return of refugees to Turkey as of Monday, with 169 votes in favour and 107 against.

SYRIZA, ANEL, the Democratic Coalition and Potami voted in favour of the bill, while New Democracy, Golden Dawn, the Communist Party and the Centrists’ Union voted it down.
