Noted names of the Romanian politics are opening the lists of candidates for the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of the Bucharest electoral constituency. Some have done politics and are returning to this year's elections, others are members of the current Parliament and want a new term as a senator or deputy.

Incumbent President Klaus Iohannis is leading the first round of the presidential election, with 36.91%, followed by PSD candidate, Viorica Dancila - 23.45%, and candidate of USR-PLUS Alliance, Dan Barna - 14.19%, after counting the votes from 18,781 polling stations, Spokesman for the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) Mircea Preotescu said on Monday.

The electoral campaign for the presidential elections, which started on October 12, will close on Saturday, at 7:00 hrs. At the same time, Friday is the first day Romanians abroad can vote. They have at their disposal three days to exercise their right to vote. These elections also featured the possibility of voting by correspondence.

Five of the six polling stations in Australia for the election of the President of Romania opened on Friday at 12:00 hrs local time (3:00 hrs Romanian time) in Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide, followed by the Perth section.

Romanians abroad will have three days and 835 polling stations at their disposal to vote in the presidential election, starting this Friday. Thus, the polling stations abroad will be open between 12.00 pm and 9.00 pm on Friday, local time, and between 7.00 am and 9.00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, local time.

Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) on Saturday established the order on the ballot of the candidates for the presidential elections this November.
